Power has been out here (and on much of the US East coast) since 9:30 PM on Friday. With daytime temps hovering just below 100 degrees and nighttime around 80 it’s been … warm. I shall return to blogging tomorrow.

Those lightning strike storms, huh?

No, there really wasn’t all that much lightning where I am. It was something called (a) “derecho” which is straight-line winds of, in this case, eighty miles per hour. I can tell you, it pretty much flattened the whole electric grid; tree tops, branches, trunks flung everywhere.
